Life has thrown me a curve ball lately as my husband recently broke his femur. I was secretly looking forward to the session for the sole fact that I was able to get out of the house sans kids and get some fresh air.

When I arrived, I was greeted by this beautiful couple who are expecting their first child in the next month-ish. My excitement at being out of the house was quickly overtaken by getting to photograph them. They were such troupers and walked all over with me to get the ‘perfect shots’. They might have thought I was a little nutso when I said, “this is the perfect parking garage” but, they stuck with me and I hope it was worth it! Can’t wait to meet their little man soon!!

What are the chances be that after months and months of hot, hot weather that we would have a session on the one cold morning. I guess I am a lightweight now but it was pretty darn cold out. Luckily, they stuck with me and, between running around and bundling up in jackets between locations, we managed to survive.

I was so glad when this family contacted me this year because I missed out on photographing them last year. They are so fun-loving and easy-going. Perhaps the thing that struck me the most throughout our session was the connection between dad and daughter. That’s why I love taking pictures, you capture connections that are real.

It’s been almost a year since I have photographed this sweet family and let me tell you, their little baby isn’t a baby anymore. He is a full-fledged walking, talking toddler. Man, was he busy. But, so very handsome and cute. And, in honor of his pictures, he got his first haircut. Sigh. They grow up so fast.

And this my friends is, by definition, a very cute baby. If I could bottle up all her rolls and chubbiness I would. It will only last a short while but I will be there with my camera in tow to capture every inch of her sweet self.

This little guy was so cute and so alert. He had three phases that he liked; eating, sleeping and peeing. Once he nursed, I had about 20 minutes until the cycle would repeat. Luckily, we hung in there and the little guy eventually turned to my side. Isn’t he handsome?!?!

As a mom of 3 thumb-suckers, I have a special place in my heart for them…

This sweet friend of mine is expecting her second and, it’s a surprise! I love it when people wait to know the sex of a baby, it really is one of the most exciting moments!

Meghann, you are beautiful on the inside and out and I hope that your know that! This pregnancy hasn’t been easy but you have done it with such grace and love. I can’t wait to meet your newest little bundle!

This summer is brutal. I am all for the heat. I love the heat. However, 105 at sunset is a little more than what I bargained for. But, we mustered through and got some great shots to show for it! Sunset shots make my heart skip.

My hope is that one day this little baby girl will grow up and know just how loved she is. I would take her as my own if I could but, alas, Auntie will have to do. I just love every inch of her round cheeks, chubby thighs and all around baby goodness. Be still my heart, she’s a thumb sucker too.

This little man was so awake, alert and so very cute. It was a long day and I am sure his parents are exhausted! But, they hung with me and we eventually won over little Levi and got some great shots!
