What are the chances be that after months and months of hot, hot weather that we would have a session on the one cold morning. I guess I am a lightweight now but it was pretty darn cold out. Luckily, they stuck with me and, between running around and bundling up in jackets between locations, we managed to survive.

I was so glad when this family contacted me this year because I missed out on photographing them last year. They are so fun-loving and easy-going. Perhaps the thing that struck me the most throughout our session was the connection between dad and daughter. That’s why I love taking pictures, you capture connections that are real.

It’s been almost a year since I have photographed this sweet family and let me tell you, their little baby isn’t a baby anymore. He is a full-fledged walking, talking toddler. Man, was he busy. But, so very handsome and cute. And, in honor of his pictures, he got his first haircut. Sigh. They grow up so fast.

These are for my wonderful neighbor whom her grandson will lovingly call “pearl”. How sweet is that?!

I would have to say that his mom was a little skeptical of her mother(my neighbor) saying, “I have this neighbor who’s a photographer and she’s going to take pictures of E…” I hope that I converted her to the wonders of professional photography!

This sweet friend of mine is expecting her second and, it’s a surprise! I love it when people wait to know the sex of a baby, it really is one of the most exciting moments!

Meghann, you are beautiful on the inside and out and I hope that your know that! This pregnancy hasn’t been easy but you have done it with such grace and love. I can’t wait to meet your newest little bundle!

My hope is that one day this little baby girl will grow up and know just how loved she is. I would take her as my own if I could but, alas, Auntie will have to do. I just love every inch of her round cheeks, chubby thighs and all around baby goodness. Be still my heart, she’s a thumb sucker too.

There is no doubt that this little girl will be loved beyond belief. I had such a good time at this session! They were so relaxed together and so in love. I could just tell that their new roles as ‘parents’ will fit them perfectly.

Sometimes, you just need pictures to rejuvenate your soul and clear your mind.

Sometimes, I connect with families or people for whom I hope my pictures can serve as all the above. This was that family. I hope these pictures bring joy to their hearts and a smile to their faces. This sweet girl happens to be the baby sister to my daughter’s boyfriend, 2 isn’t too young, is it? My daughter has a thing for his curly blonde locks. I tell ya, she knows how to pick em. I was honored when mom asked me to photograph her baby girl. What I thought was even more special was that she wanted to photograph just her daughter. That’s so special to me.

She has the most beautiful eyes that I have ever seen. They are clean, crisp and just gorgeous. I had already packed up all my gear and was about to leave when I saw her laying so contently having her bottle. I had to capture it. It’s actually my favorite picture. Just so sweet and innocent.
