It’s officially… Austin Photographer

So, it’s officially frustrating. I have been bit by the camera bug. So, for months and months, I have been hearing about other photographers having issues with their Canon 5d’s and 5d markII. Now, if you aren’t a photographer, then this probably will bore you but I just have to get it off my chest. :) So, I really didn’t understand what they were talking about. I never had any problems. I never had any focus issues unless it was on part of my own. But, I am a stickler for sharp images. I want the eye, particularly, in most images to be crystal clear. If it’s a cm off then it bothers me. Like, really bothers me. To my core. So, up until, well, this weekend, I had never had an issue. Then, the bug bit me. Or, whatever it is that is causing this malfunction. I was getting more and more ‘off’ images. More images where the background was in focus and the image not or where the whole thing was just a but fuzzy. Automatically, I assume user error and so I try with ’still’ subjects(like my husband and not my kiddos) and it was still happening. Serious frustration. In fact, nothing is more frustrating then having a perfect but soft picture like some that I got of my kiddos from this weekend(see previous posts). Now, of course, I still love the pictures because they are my children but it just doesn’t fly. So, I just sent my camera and all my lenses off to see if it can be recalibrated. Which, is irritating in and of itself but the cost is even more irritating. And, so there it is, now I understand why people are switching to Nikon and, I also understand why so many people don’t necesarily understand what everyone is talking about. But, when it happens to you…you so get it. So, I am hoping for a little Canon miracle. But, for now, I have my 40D and backup lenses and that will suit me just fine!

And, clients need not worry. I assure you that I won’t be using that camera until the problem is resolved! :)
