Pure Wonder Photography. on this day. Austin Birth Photographer

I watched quietly from the sidelines hoping that the sound of my shutter wouldn’t distract from the task at hand. But secretly, I was praying and hoping and sending every ounce of encouragement, strength and support their way.

This mom labored, for hours and hours. 35, I think. She was awesome. Breathing in rhythms that had their own melody. Her mind so in tune and in control of her body. The little babe snuggled secure inside of her momma, unsure of the changes that were about to come her way. She just wanted to stay in. A babe’s will versus a momma’s determination. The story didn’t unfold exactly as planned, but sometimes, they just have their own way of doing things.

The strength that I saw that day I will never forget. The bond between a loving husband and wife is something that I wish everyone could experience. The story took its own turn. But, in the end, a babe snuggled securely in her momma’s arms. Just as life should be.

Thank you guys for allowing me to be a part of this experience. Your journey has just begun and I hope these memories never fade. Although life creates its own path, sometimes different than what you choose, it is still a journey worth remembering. May this story remain in your hearts because, on this day, your babe was born.

November 25, 2009 - 12:01 pm Lauren - There's no way to describe how it feels to look back at this slideshow and remember my labor so vividly. It's like I go back to each actual moment. What a privilege it is to have such beautiful images from my baby's birth. I feel so lucky. Thank you for giving us that.
