This sweet girl happens to be the baby sister to my daughter’s boyfriend, 2 isn’t too young, is it? My daughter has a thing for his curly blonde locks. I tell ya, she knows how to pick em. I was honored when mom asked me to photograph her baby girl. What I thought was even more special was that she wanted to photograph just her daughter. That’s so special to me.

She has the most beautiful eyes that I have ever seen. They are clean, crisp and just gorgeous. I had already packed up all my gear and was about to leave when I saw her laying so contently having her bottle. I had to capture it. It’s actually my favorite picture. Just so sweet and innocent.

Isn’t that beautiful?

Nothing touches my heart more than seeing a mother with her daughter. I had never experienced a feeling quite like that until I had my own daughter. It’s something that takes your breath away. This was no exception. This momma had an air of confidence that can only be described as love. True love. She fed her baby as if it were second nature. And she just had this sense of completeness. It’s hard to describe but beautiful to witness.

Thank you for inviting me into your home and allowing me to capture such a precious bundle. Hopefully, when the newborn fog has risen and sleeping hours return, these pictures will serve as memories of those fleeting hours that will never be again.

Sweet, sweet O. He really does love me, even though he did not want to smile. But that’s okay, his eye contact sure made up for it. In reality, my favorite pictures don’t have smiles in them. It’s a matter of personal opinion really. I just love the raw emotions that are captured when smiles aren’t necesarily present. Either way, off my smile bandwagon. He melts my heart everytime. And, I would like to point out the re-occuring “one” that he is showing us…he is gearing up for the big one year in a couple of months!

I had such a good time with this family. They had just gotten their first dSLR camera and I always love talking to people and giving advice on how to properly use your camer. You know, you just point and shoot…right?!?!?! In the midst of having a baby, they have also managed to put their house on the market and get an offer. Seriously, that’s not stressful?!?! Things around here have been uber busy but I know some have been patiently awaiting a little sneak. Thanks for letting me capture these precious, fleeting moments!! And, this is my classic ” sure, we can try it” picture. I will always *try* to take pictures of babies with pets but, honestly, it is so hard and many times, it just doesn’t work. But, this time it did!! I love this picture!!

Julie has been waiting so patiently for her sneak. I have been so busy editing the pictures and I didn’t want to post any until I was done with all of them. But, I decided to break my rules and post one two of my favorite. Up until I became a photographer, I always went to a wedding and enjoyed the moment. As a photographer, I like to capture the little moments that most people won’t see or, if they do, they won’t remember them. The moments that can’t be described in words. Those moments that have to be witnessed. Like the groom looking at his bride during the middle of the ceremony. Ever so slightly turning his eyes to glance in awe at the beautiful women standing next to him. And, just because I love this one! Don’t worry Julie, I will be back later with much more!

I curse facebook, twitter and all those other ’social networking’ sites. You just get sucked in and then, you can’t stop. I don’t twitter and I don’t do linked in…but, I do facebook. It’s one of those things that I had no idea when I began what all would come of it. The awesome thing is that I have been able to reconnect with some pretty amazing people. Whereas years ago, before any social sites, you wouldn’t see people whom you graduated with for years. Actually, probably until your reunion rolled around. But, what a shame it would be to realize that a friend was living a mere mile from your house. Let alone, with a child the same age as yours. Yes, thank goodness for facebook. As much time as it sucks away from my life, I am grateful. But, more so, I feel blessed that M and I were able to reconnect and now, we are both mothers and in the same life phase. It’s amazing how it all worked out.

So, here is M and L…aren’t they such a sweet couple? So in love. I just love that. When the love radiates from the picture. And, better yet, the 2 of them joined forces and produced this sweet bundle of joy. And, yes, those are her natural eyes. So crisp, beautiful and blue. And, together, they make one of the cutest families ever.
M&L, thank you for letting me capture this moment in your lives! You guys are adorable in every way! Hope you enjoyed your sneak!

On Friday we celebrated my little man’s 3rd birthday. Much more to come on that later but for now, I am still catching my breath and realizing that my first baby is really 3.

My *older* sister called me today and asked for a ‘blog favor’. She wants a poll for all my readers out there…this applies to all those who read but never comment! So, my sister is turning 30 in May. The new 20, right?!? She wants to go out in style. Not a *huge* party or anything but rather she wants to buy/do something for herself. The problem? She has no.clue what she would do. So, she needs help and advice. What should she do? Any advice or suggestions? Come on…get those creative juices flowing and leave her some love with all your fab ideas!

I found this picture very fitting. This is from Eli’s party and I am not sure whether she is showing him that he is 3 or trying to teach him 3-0. And, don’t forget the little contest that I have going on now...read all the way to the bottom!

I shot these bridals a couple of months ago and after a beautiful ceremony yesterday, Matt and Julie are now married and happily packing their bags for a wonderful honeymoon. So, I am coming to re-visit a wonderful bridal session. It’s out of my ‘norm’ and I had so.much.fun. Julie was an amazing bride to work with and was happily up for anything. And, let me not even mention that it was 30 degree and dropping outside. And, the wind chill. It was so windy. After about 2 hours my fingers were so frozen that I was having difficulty pressing my shutter and adjusting my settings. I don’t know how she did it in a strapless dress. But, she did it and worked it and the results were beautiful.

Thank you Julie for being such an amazing bride! Have fun on your honeymoon and I will be back soon with a peak of your wedding pictures!
