We finished this session right as the drizzle started to really hit. They were such sweet kids and they reminded me so much of my own. I know there is a tired mama out there who would really like to see some pictures before she heads off to bed. So, here’s a couple to hold you over and check back in a couple of days and I will be back with a much bigger peak and a contest for you!

I forgot to post the band pictures from the Ronald McDonald House Bandana Ball. They are Radiostar of Austin and did a wonderful job! I had fun stepping outside of my ‘norm’ to get some pictures of them!

This is one of my dearest friends. We are so much alike it’s a bit disgusting but yet different enough to keep it entertaining. She is someone that I can answer the door in my tie-dye t-shirt and Tom’s shoes and not be embarrased(as I hang my head in shame for admitting this in ‘real life’). Really, she’s the only person that I would answer the door like that for. But, it’s my typical garb and she knows it and so we laugh about our crunchy, hippy ways together. That’s what a good friend is all about.

It was about 2 years ago, we were both teaching full time. My son was still a baby and she was pregnant with her first. I would always go ‘complain’ in her room and she would always come into my room for a breath of fresh air. She was the first person that I ever photographed and they are some of my favorite pictures to date. So, here we are 2 years later, I now have 2 ‘babies’ and she is pregnant with her second. We are now staying at home and enjoying life as it is. Full circle, I tell ya.

Christine, you are an awesome friend and I am so excited for you guys! I can’t wait to meet your new little man and to watch your family grow! And, did I mention that I convinced her to cloth diaper. Come on now, you know you want to do it too!!

If you are anything like me then you probably read a lot of blogs. I mean, I have truly had to cut back. I was so engrossed in other peoples lives that I was missing out on my own. Now, I have a select few that I go read regularly(like clients and friends). Because, seriously, I was reading blogs of blogs of blogs of people that I had no idea who they were or why I was reading it. You know, don’t you?

Seriously.off.topic. Anyway, if you are a blog reader then you know that we had snow here in Austin last week. How do you know? Because, every.single.Austin blog wrote about the snow. How can you not? The thing is, if you never see snow then you can never possibly get tired of it. Eli and I stood out in the snow all.day.long. It was such a phenomenon…huge, beautiful snowflakes falling from the sky and covering the ground in a way that I have never seen. Really, it took my breath away. And, of course, I was out there with my camera trying to capture it so that I could remember forever.

It’s my party and I’ll cry if I want to. That is what our pediatrician(yeah, she reads my blog. I know, how cool is that?? I love it when I find out people actually read my blog) told me she thought of when I posted these pictures. So, so true.

I had a big party planned for Teagen’s first birthday. I painstakingly made every.single.decoration. I was so excited. Just something about a fun, girly party filled with lots of cute babies. How could it possibly get any better? Well, Eli got sick then Teagen got sick. And, we had to cancel the party. To say that I was bummed is a serious understatement. But, I decided to make the best of it and decorate anyways. I invited my parents because they have both worked in the public school systems and have immune systems of stone. And, I invited my sister because, honestly, I might have *slightly* understated exactly how sick they were so that she would come. I mean, we are so over the 4 day incubation period so I know that I am in the clear! We had a little party and I decorated away. In fact, we still have some of the decorations up today. I just can’t bear to take them down. I know, I know. But, I am a *bit* sentimental like that. Teagen had a great time(other than the big pouty lip, swollen eyes and crocodile tears) and Eli also had a blast.

Here are the invitations I made and a cute shot from her one year photos…Some of the decorations and another one year shot…And, these *awesome* cupcakes that my friend made…yeah, she went to pastry school. Aren’t they perfect and beautiful. They were so delicious!!And, I made all these bow and bow holders for the girls that were coming…now, I have to mail them out!
Let’s not forget about the birthday girl herself…

I have been absent. So much going on and so little time to blog. I do have some exciting local vendors coming up and I am excited to showcase and support other local businesses. So, stay tuned for that. I have been sticking to my business hours, it has been hard but also a blessing. I am spending more time being a mom and less time glued to my computer. I have been watching this relationship grow into something special. And, I have been wondering where my little baby went. We are approaching the (gasp) 1 year mark. We have a party in the makings and I am sad but also happy. Can’t she just be a baby for a little longer? We enrolled her in Mothers Day Out for next year. Two days a week. I am not sure what I am going to do with myself. And, check out those teeth…I am so irritated because I seem to have lost a bunch of product pictures that I was going to post. I really need to get better about organizing my personal pictures. I went through a bazillion folders and can’t find them anywhere. So very irritating.

There are so many reasons why I loved this little guy. Not only is he adorable but he is so sweet. And, his blond hair and blue eyes. Yup, I could photograph him all day. In typical 2-year-old-boy-fashion, he was on the go. Good thing that I move quickly because he would have left me in the dust. Man, he was just so curious and so much fun. And, he loves his mama. I have a special place in my heart for little boys who love their mama.

I honestly wasn’t sure that this session was going to happen. It rained all night and it was drizzling when I was on my way. But, we stuck to it and got some great shots! Those muddy pants just make me happy inside. That’s what little boys are made of!

And, this boy could get some serious air.Â Thank you guys for toughing the weather out with me. I had such a great time!

When a big brother is away, a little girl will play…This just cracks me up. Eli has one bucket of toys that he likes to ‘guard’ as his own. The second we go to play when Eli is at preschool, T quietly wiggles her way over to it and digs in. I’m sure I’ll be back tomorrow with something more entertaining than my own kids!

So about once or twice a week when T and I make the trek to pick Eli up from preschool, I always arrive a little early. And, with camera in tow. They have so many great photo places that I just can’t resist. And, I can always find some good light.

Poor Eli. Hopefully he has never seen me. It could be embarrassing when your mom is rolling in the grass, crawling through bushes or jumping like a mad woman to get Teagen to perform for her pictures. Oh…the embarrassment. Â But, in typical Teagen fashion, I get the ‘mooooommmmm’ look. You know, the look I am sure to get in, like 15 years, when I am making her schlep all over town with me, in her prom dress, so that I can get the perfect shots. Yes, I can hear it now, “mom, do I have to?”. Can’t you see it?

But, don’t these cheeks just make you want to melt.

I couldn’t help but have this chuckle of remembrance when this sweet little one would let out one of those reflux spit ups. If you are a parent who has had a reflux baby then you know exactly what I am talking about. You know, the burp cloth is like your new best friend. I remember those days. However, the difference was, this little one was such a happy, go lucky baby. My son was the complete opposite.

She is three months old and so cute. She has the most beautiful hair that has natural highlights in it…you know, the kind you pay hundreds for at the salon. Yeah, she’s a natural beauty! I always do pictures in color and black/white and I tend to favor the color pictures, personally. However, these black and white just caught my eye. I think the black and white just emphasizes her beautiful hair and eyes. Just gorgeous.

Who am I kiding…I have to show a color picture because she has the most beautiful skin that you have ever seen. And, my fav of the day…And, since I don’t know when I will be back to post more pictures from this session, lets just do it today! 20 comments and they get a free 8×10 print of their choice!
